A few weeks ago I was doing some research on the Lucarelli side of the family, and I found some information on Nancy Lucarelli. Nancy’s father was Anthony Lucarelli, my father’s cousin. I didn’t have much information on Nancy, so I started digging a little further, and I found out her married name now was Nancy Leaming. After some more research, I found a telephone number I believed to be hers. I then made one of my famous, “Hi, you don’t know me, but we’re related”, phone calls. I got her answering machine and left a message. I did find the correct Nancy, and she called me back. We talked for a little while and then started to exchange e-mails. She looked at the family tree, and gave me quite a bit of information I didn’t have about her family, and sent me a few pictures. She then suggested that I contact her cousin, Marcy Mancini, on Facebook because she has a lot of documents and pictures.
Marcy’s Grandmother was Carmal “Millie” Lucarelli, my father’s cousin. I found Marcy on Facebook, but I couldn’t get in touch with her there, so I started digging. I found her on LinkedIn, and left her a message there. I found her work e-mail address and sent her an e-mail there. I found what I believed to be her phone number, got the answering machine, and left her a message there. Fortunately for me, Marcy didn’t believe I was a stalker, and e-mailed me back. She is so nice! This week-end she looked at the family tree, told me one thing I had wrong, and then proceeded to tell me a few stories! To top things off she sent the picture you see at the top of this post. It’s a picture of Filemena “Fanny” Lucarelli, taken the year that she died. The only other picture I’ve seen of her was in a group photo that I’m going to guess was taken about 1925/6. As soon as I saw this picture I got so excited I ran into the kitchen. Diane was right in the middle of cooking supper. I made her stop and come back to my office so I could show her! Thank you so much Marcy, I can’t wait to see what you come up with next!
